Inside the driver app

Everything for the job, in your pocket.

Jobs, your diary, expenses and the vehicle check all live in one app. Here is a preview of what founding drivers get at launch.

Jobs come to you. Each offer shows the route, the car and your full pay before you accept. Say yes or no.
Your diary, your hours. Set when you are free, block out the days you are not, and see confirmed jobs in one place. You only get offers that fit.
No money out of your pocket. Fuel, parking and tolls on a job go on the Chauffeured card. Snap the receipt and it is matched to the job automatically.
Protected on every journey. Five timestamped photos and confirmed insurance before you set off, with your digital ID shared with the client.

Two ways to drive

Their car or yours.

Choose the work that suits you. Founding drivers can do both.

The client's car

You drive the client's own vehicle: a family car for a day of appointments, an executive's car to the airport, a collector's car to an event.

  • Insurance arranged per journey through our insurance partner
  • Five timestamped photos of the car before every journey
  • No vehicle of your own needed

Your own luxury car

You collect the client in your own approved vehicle, for airport transfers, business travel and events.

  • We review your vehicle and its insurance during verification
  • Clients see the vehicle you are arriving in
  • Add your car later if you are not ready yet

Pay

Three tiers, set by your experience.

Your tier is set once a member of our team has checked your licences and training. You can move up as your qualifications grow.

Verified £28/hr

Chauffeur

Standard chauffeur work for private clients and companies. A clean driving record, good judgement and a professional manner.

Professional £40/hr

Security-trained

For drivers with recognised security or defensive driving training, often gained in service, the police or private security.

CP Certified £80/hr

Close protection

For holders of an SIA close protection licence, checked against the SIA public register before you are offered this work.

Rates shown are driver pay per hour. On top of that, you are paid £25 travel on every booking to cover getting to and from the client, and you keep all of it. Every booking is at least two hours. The full pay for each job is shown before you accept it, and expenses incurred on a job are paid on the Chauffeured card rather than out of your pocket.

Built for drivers

The details that make the work fair.

Pay shown before you accept

Every job shows what you will earn before you say yes. No guessing, no surprises at the end of the month.

Chauffeured expense card

A virtual card for costs on the job, such as fuel, parking and tolls, so you are not funding the client's journey yourself.

Timestamped photo evidence

Before every client-car journey the app takes you through five photos: front, right, rear, left and dashboard. It protects you and the client.

Per-journey insurance

When you drive a client's car, cover is arranged for that journey through our insurance partner, and confirmed in the app before you start.

Digital ID

Your verified Chauffeured ID lives in the app, so clients know exactly who is collecting them and what has been checked.

Flexible, self-employed work

You work as an independent driver. Take on as much or as little as you like around your other commitments.

Service leavers and veterans

Your experience counts here.

Many of the people we want to work with have served. The judgement, discretion and calm you built in service are exactly what our clients are looking for.

We work with veterans' charities to reach people leaving the Forces and those who left some time ago. Tell us about your service when you register and we will take it into account when matching you to work. Security and close protection training gained in service can count towards the higher pay tiers once verified.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply?

You need to be 25 or over, have held a full UK driving licence for at least three years with no more than six penalty points, have the right to work in the UK, and pass a DBS check. Close protection work also needs a current SIA close protection licence.

Do I need any documents to register?

No. Registration only asks for your contact details and the work you want. We ask for your licence, DBS and any SIA details at the verification stage. If you would like to, you can add a photo of your licence straight after registering to speed things up.

What checks do you carry out?

We check your driving licence with the DVLA, run a DBS check online, confirm your identity and right to work, and check your SIA licence on the public register if you have one. Most checks clear within about 48 hours of you supplying the details, although some take longer. A member of our team reviews every result. Your tier is never raised automatically.

How much will I earn?

Driver pay is £28 an hour for chauffeur work, £40 an hour for security-trained drivers and £80 an hour for SIA licensed close protection. You are also paid £25 travel on every booking to cover getting to and from the client, and you keep all of it. Every booking is at least two hours. The pay for each job is shown in full before you accept it. How much work you get depends on client demand in your area and the hours you make yourself available.

Am I employed by Chauffeured?

No. Drivers work as independent, self-employed contractors. You decide when you are available and which jobs to accept, and you are responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. Full terms are set out in the driver agreement you receive before your first job.

How does insurance work?

When you drive a client's car, insurance is arranged for each journey through our insurance partner, and the app confirms cover before the job starts. If you drive your own car, we will go through the insurance your vehicle needs during verification.

What kind of car do I need for own-car work?

A well-kept luxury or executive vehicle that is suitable for private clients. We review the make, model, age and condition of each car individually. You do not need your own car to drive for us: client-car work needs no vehicle at all.

Do I need an SIA licence?

Only for close protection work at £80 an hour. Chauffeur and security-trained work do not need an SIA licence. If you are applying for one, tell us when you register.

What is the training?

The Chauffeured course is online and done at your own pace. It covers client care, discretion, vehicle handover, the photo protocol and using the app. The pass mark is 80%.

Where is the work?

Chauffeured is UK-wide. We are recruiting founding drivers now, ahead of opening to clients, so work will build area by area as clients join. We will tell you honestly what demand looks like near you.

What happens to my information?

We use it to assess your registration, carry out checks and contact you about driving work. We never sell it. Read our privacy notice for the detail.
